Deska Vinyl — Early Access Survey

Your records deserve
better than a crate.

We're building a smarter way to store and browse your vinyl collection — and we need your honest feedback before we build it.

A note from the founders

Hi all!

Thank you so much for taking a few minutes to fill out this survey.

Right now, we are a small, two-person team driven by a simple goal: make storing and accessing vinyl records easy and efficient. We are currently in the early stages of designing a product built specifically to solve that problem, and our ultimate goal is to create a storage solution that is both highly accessible and genuinely affordable for collectors of all stages.

Because we are in the early phases, we aren't just looking for data — we are looking for your voice. Your feedback today will directly shape the actual design, features, and build of this product. You are quite literally helping us build this from the ground up.

Thank you so much for your time, your insights, and for helping us bring this vision to life.

DESKA

The Problem

Current options make collectors choose between function and form.

Every storage solution forces a tradeoff. We think there's a better way.

Hard to find anything

Records packed tightly together mean flipping through every sleeve to find what you want.

Storage or display — not both

Furniture specific for vinyl takes up space and money. Makeshift storage makes your living space look chaotic.

Can't grow with your collection

Static shelves and crates don't adapt. Run out of space and you're buying new furniture.

The Solution

A rail-and-carrier system that retrofits into your existing shelf.

No new furniture. No drilling. Slides into your existing shelving and transforms how you interact with your collection.

Three carriers stored in a shelf

Stage 01

Stored — compact and organized

Carriers sit flush on the rail inside your shelf. Multiple carriers per shelf opening. Clear polycarbonate walls let you see album spines at a glance.

No wasted space

Stage 02

Browse — pull out and flip through

Pull a carrier forward and the walls fan open automatically. Browse by spine without removing a single record. Push back to close — one motion.

Find any record in seconds

Stage 03

Display — lift out and stand anywhere

Remove the carrier from the rail entirely. Built-in support beams deploy and it stands on any surface — shelf, coffee table, turntable stand. Put it back when you're done.

Storage that becomes decor

Product images are AI-generated renderings created for demonstrative purposes. Final design, proportions, and materials may differ.

Why it's different

Built for how collectors actually use their records.

Not how furniture companies think they do.

No new furniture needed

Organize (almost) anything into the perfect vinyl storage space.

Organize by anything

Each carrier is a section — genre, era, mood, artist. Rearrange carriers in seconds. Your system, your rules.

Clear polycarbonate walls

See album spines without touching anything. The carrier is as much display as storage.

Scales with your collection

Add carriers as you add records. One system works whether you have 50 records or 500.

Your Feedback

Help us get this right.

We're a small team building this from scratch. Your answers directly shape what we build first.

1. How do you currently store your vinyl collection?

Select all that apply — this helps us design for the range of spaces people actually have.

2. What's your biggest frustration with how you currently store records?

Select all that apply.

3. How large is your collection?

4. How many records would you ideally want in each plastic organizer?

5. Which features matter most to you?

Select all that apply.

6. Based on the information provided, and assuming one system holds 40–50 records, what would you be willing to pay for a product like this?

7. Based on what we've presented, would you buy this product for yourself or a collector in your life?

8. Please rank these in order of importance (1 = most important, 5 = least).

Use each number 1–5 once.
